"Somewhere in the late 90s, during one of my intermittent and always doomed attempts at holding down a 9-5 job, I typed “Travel Writer Wanted” into a now defunct internet search engine, and unbelievably, an advertisement came up with a guidebook company called In Your Pocket."
The rest - as they say - is history, this time as told by one-time Pocket legend and founder of Krakow In Your Pocket, Scott Alexander Young, now telling his story live and direct (almost) from near earth orbit (he's in New Zealand).
Dismissing the ridiculous notion that working at In Your Pocket is anything like a 9-5 job (we never stay that late...) his new blog, Guide to the Smoking Section will no doubt lift the lid on a few Pocket myths, a legacy of some very long Krakow nights.
When you're done reading his blog, check out his take on the earliest days at Krakow In Your Pocket, written late last year as part of Krakow's 50th issue celebrations, and which includes some of the best reviews from the first issue of KIYP.

Dobry viecor,
Thanks for the plug!
I have actually now posted video, photos and story about those KIYP daze and nights. It's all here at http://aguidetothesmokingsection.blogspot.com/2008/06/lights-are-going-out-all-over-world.html
Enjoy. Even if it is downright unhealthy. Oh and PS, I am leaving NZ and on my way to Argentina.
And er, on the eve of my departure from Auckland to Buenos Aires, I have created an all new blog, which takes over where 'smoking section' left off. Here we are at http://jetsethobo.wordpress.com/
